Trauma and EMDR
Trauma can range from acute to chronic. First Responders & Veterans often struggle with PTSD after being exposed repeatedly to traumatic situations. EMDR is the gold-standard for helping PTSD. EMDR Therapy, or Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, is a form of psychotherapy that helps individuals recover from the symptoms and emotional distress resulting from traumatic life events. Studies have repeatedly shown that EMDR therapy can provide the benefits of psychotherapy much faster than traditional methods. EMDR therapy suggests that the brain's information processing system naturally gravitates towards mental health. If this system is disrupted by a traumatic event, it can lead to prolonged emotional distress. EMDR therapy aims to remove these blocks, allowing healing to proceed. It operates on the premise that the mind can heal from psychological trauma just as the body heals from physical trauma. For example, when a hand is cut, the body works to heal the wound. However, if the wound is aggravated by a foreign object or repeated injury, it becomes painful and festers. Once the obstruction is cleared, healing continues.
Clinicians trained in EMDR therapy use specific protocols and procedures to assist clients in activating their natural healing processes.(photo is a snapshot of how EMDR works with using bilateral eye stimulation) - Therapy
Therapy for Men
Men's therapy is a unique and important part of mental health and wellbeing. While both men and women face challenges and struggles in life, they often deal with them in different ways. As a result, it is crucial to have specialized therapy tailored to the needs and experiences of men. Therapy can help address issues such as toxic relationships, pressure to conform to societal expectations, and difficulty expressing emotions. Through therapy, men can explore these challenges and develop coping strategies to navigate them in a healthy and productive manner. Seeking therapy does not make someone weak or less of a man, rather it shows strength and a willingness to improve oneself. Men's therapy provides a judgement-free safe space for men to work through their struggles and become the best version of themselves. It is an essential aspect of mental health and promoting overall wellbeing for men. - Therapy
Relationship Counseling
In today's fast-paced world, we all struggle with various relationship issues. Women, men, teens, and even children can face challenges in their relationships with others – whether it be with friends, family, or romantic partners. These issues can greatly impact our mental and emotional well-being, and it's important to address them before they escalate. Fortunately, there are many types of therapy available to help individuals navigate through these struggles. For women, therapy can provide a safe space to explore their feelings and experiences, addressing issues such as self-esteem, communication, and balancing multiple roles. Men may benefit from therapy that focuses on managing anger and stress, as well as building healthy relationships. For teenagers, therapy can be an opportunity to express their thoughts and emotions without judgment, while also learning effective communication skills and coping mechanisms. Even children can benefit from therapy, as it can help them process difficult feelings and experiences and develop healthy ways of expressing themselves. One of the biggest challenges in relationships is speaking up for oneself. It can be difficult to assert boundaries and communicate our needs in a healthy and effective manner. This can lead to feelings of resentment, frustration, and misunderstandings. However, with the help of therapy, individuals can learn how to set boundaries and communicate assertively, promoting healthy and fulfilling relationships. In conclusion, relationship issues and difficulties with self-expression are common for everyone, regardless of age or gender. Thankfully, there are various types of therapy available to guide individuals in overcoming these obstacles and improving their overall well-being. By addressing these issues head-on, we can build stronger and more fulfilling relationships with ourselves and others. So don't hesitate to reach out for help and take the first step towards healthier and happier relationships. - Therapy
Solution Focused Therapy
Solution-focused therapy is a highly effective psychological approach that is preferred by individuals seeking a solution to their issues, rather than focusing on their problems. It is especially beneficial for people who may find it difficult to communicate in traditional therapy settings. This form of therapy is particularly beneficial for individuals who are seeking short-term and goal-oriented solutions to their problems. The focus is on identifying strengths and resources rather than dwelling on past traumas and issues. This is especially helpful for children and teenagers, who may struggle with articulating their emotions and past experiences. Through a collaborative and strengths-based approach, solution-focused therapy empowers oneself to take control of their lives and overcome challenges. As a brief and practical form of therapy, it is also well-suited for younger populations who may have shorter attention spans and limited patience for long-term therapy sessions. Overall, solution-focused therapy provides a refreshing and effective alternative to traditional therapy methods, promoting quick and lasting results. With the guidance of a trained therapist, this approach empowers individuals to focus on their strengths and utilize them to overcome their challenges, leading to a more fulfilling and successful life. - Therapy

Emotional Freedom Technique
Free yourself from the emotions which overwelm you, with a self-regulation tool you can use anywhere. Emotional Freedom Technique, EFT, is often referred to as "tapping," is an alternative therapy for anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and other conditions. It involves tapping on specific points on the body while focusing on a particular issue. This combination of tapping and focusing helps to release emotional blockages and reduce the intensity of traumatic memories.
